Unnatural monopolies hinder development of rural business
Businesses of Karkaralinsk district are dissatisfied with the services of monopolists
The Committee on SMEs intends to fight for establishment of fair prices for the business.
The Committee on SMEs was created under the Branch of the Chamber of entrepreneurs of Karkaralinsk district of Karaganda region.
The main topic of the first meeting was the problem of the price of electricity provided by LLP "Zhezkazgan Energosbyt". As it turned out, the monopolist appointed tariffs, which, according to entrepreneurs of the region, are not justified. According to an official letter from the Department of the Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies in Karaganda region, the cost of electricity in 2013 was 14.66 tenge per kW, excluding VAT, whereas entrepreneurs of Karkaralinsk pay all this time 22 tenge. According to many manufacturers, they have to operate at a loss, not raising the price for goods and services in order not to lose customers. And this situation is not only in Karkaralinsk district, but also in other parts of the region. In 2015, the actions of LLP were recognized as illegal by the courts of all instances, and DARNM obliged the monopoly to recalculate charges for all districts, but "Zhezkazgan Energosbyt" did not fulfill this requirement and continues to supply energy at a higher price. The working body is going to hold a series of meetings and to achieve tangible results for local businesses.
In addition, the Committee intensified the work on conduction of more seminars and educational meetings in order to raise legal awareness of SMEs.
Meir Mubarakov - the owner of one of the largest car service stations in Karkaralinsk district was elected as the Chairman of the Committee of SMEs in Karkaralinsk district. He is in business for 14 years. The Chairman of the new committee is a fairly well-known and respected personality – he is never a bystander, he participates in all activities related to the business. Businessman works closely with the branch of the Chamber – gets consultations and he shares his experience with other entrepreneurs on taxes and public procurement. M. Mubarakov is also active in social activities, constantly supporting charitable initiatives in the region.
After the election, Meir Mubarakov thanked his colleagues for trust: "Thanks to members of the Committee for their trust, I will do everything in my power to support our entrepreneurs, our compatriots in difficult conditions", - he said.
Last year Karkaralinsk District received the highest number of grants for businesses.
The district is represented by 1553 small and medium-sized businesses. Basically, the business is focused on the agriculture, trade and manufacturing industries.
